  Julien Déramond builds open source tools for design systems, such as component-anatomy, dtgraph and bootstrap-tokens, has been on the Bootstrap core team since 2022, and contributes upstream to many open source projects. Julien created Open {re}Source and Advent of Open Source to help people discover and contribute to open source, and works as a Design System Tech Lead at Thales. Based in Paris.

  Julien Déramond builds tools that help designers and developers speak the same language. On the Bootstrap core team since 2022, Julien maintains one of the most used front-end frameworks and explores what its next generation looks like as portable design tokens. Julien's open source tools, among them component-anatomy, dtgraph and bootstrap-tokens, focus on making design systems visible, inspectable and precise. Beyond those tools, Julien is a steady upstream contributor to open source projects, with thousands of contributions since 2016. In 2023 Julien launched Open {re}Source, a platform for discovering and contributing to open source, followed by Advent of Open Source, a December event that onboards newcomers. Julien is a Design System Tech Lead at Thales, previously led the Orange Design System web framework Boosted, and speaks at conferences about design systems, tokens and open source. Based in Paris, France.
